Keto Scanner ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website.
Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and an encrypted version of your password. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard encryption and are never stored in plain text.
- Food Scan Data: When you use the scanner, food images are sent to our analysis service for nutritional estimates. Your scan results, meal history, and compressed image thumbnails are stored on our servers and linked to your account so your data syncs across all your devices.
- Payment Information: If you subscribe, payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details directly.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide and improve the Keto Scanner service, including analyzing food for keto-friendliness, syncing your scan history and meal logs across devices, processing payments, and sending password reset emails when you request them.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on encrypted servers. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Food scan images are stored as small compressed thumbnails only. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data.
Third-Party Services
We share data only with the following services:
- Google: Food image analysis (images only, no personal data).
- Stripe: Payment processing for subscriptions.
- Resend: Transactional emails such as password resets.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
Your Rights
- Access: View all your data anytime in the app.
- Delete: Permanently delete your account and all associated data (scans, history, account info) from the Account tab. This cannot be undone.
- Export: Contact us to request a full data export.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed from our servers.
